“A wink in time” is a regional project of urban dances, under the direction of Amala Dianor, Pierre Bolo and Mickael le Mer, in a new, innovative event. Over a working period of a year twenty young amateur dancers from the Pays de la Loire region participated in the creation of a piece, alongside professional dancers. Over the year the dancers discovered what it is like to be a professional, improving their technique in workshops with well-known dancers and choreographers. Pierre Bolo, Amala Dianor and Mickael le Mer worked together in 1998 with the CNDC in Angers on a piece which also used amateur and professional dancers, “The eye of time,” directed by the choreographer and hip hop dance pioneer Gabin Nuissier. It was an important beginning in their careers as dancers and then choreographers. So they decided to offer the same chance to the dancers in their region, a creation which would introduce this new generation of dancers to the area and to France.
Overflow is the title of the creation, proposed by its young dancers, immersing us in the world of urban dance, from the point of view of the dancers, including the hip hop of today and of the future. The stage is the playing field where they test out the codes and the representations for twenty young people actively pushing the limits of their dance and their lives.
