Nicolas Tallec

Light designer, General and light manager

A creator and shaper of beams of light while staying in the shadows: this would be Nicolas Tallec’s personal motto, drawn instinctively to the neverending, mysterious dialogue of shadow and light. He fell in love with hip hop dance beginning in 1999 when he encountered the Compagnie S’poart during a residency at the Manège theatre (scène nationale du Grand R de la Roche-sur-Yon). He continued his adventures in the world of theatre, notably at the Théâtre Icare (Saint Nazaire), working for ten years as a musician, then deciding to change direction. He created the lighting design for Extra Luna in 2001 for the Compagnie S'poart. Nicolas Tallec enjoys the unexpected, interferences, translating the language of movement into lighting design onstage. Over the past 20 years Nicolas has mostly worked with dance companies (S’poart, La Chute Libre, Amala Dianor and Flowcus) as lighting designer, set designer, lighting director and principal stage manager.
